Golf Course Tips and Information
Bring your “A” game and a full bag of sticks when you come to the Cannon Golf Club! This course lends itself to shot making, as many of our holes require you (or tempt you!) to move the ball one way or the other. Here you’ll be challenged by small targets,well-placed water hazards and some tough par three’s. We feature beautiful bluegrass fairways and bent grass greens.
Number one is going to test you. The first hole at the Cannon Golf Club requires a well-placed drive that favors a left-to-right tee shot. A fairway bunker protects the left side, while the right side is sprinkled with trees. The tee shot is well protected by large oaks that require your drive to start straight. A well-hit drive will leave a mid to short iron to a relatively flat green. Great hole to begin your round, now grab your bag and move to the next challenge!
Our greens are typically small and a bit on the narrow side. Many have enough slope to make you carefully mull over your first putt if you’re above the hole. Holes #4, #6, #9, #10, #11 and #13 all feature enough slope to make you think twice about being overly aggressive.
